This is the post excerpt.
The Bury’s are planning their travels again, but no cruise ship this time! We are going on the road for 28 days in our newly converted mini bus that John has turned into a motor home. The hope is that we will travel from the north east of Scotland to New Haven in the south of England and get the ferry across to France. This blog will follow our travels and see where we end up.
End of November 2018 we took a car, 2 trains and a plane to collect our new to us MoHo and drove it back to the North East of Scotland. We are looking forward to many adventures with the new addition, and sadly will be selling the Hippy bus. Our adventure last summer was Russia, but we left the bus at home and took a ship.
MOT done ✅ and no advisory’s in fact the garage said it was in excellent condition and solid.
Caravan and motor home club insurance was less than last year, probably because it is now changed to a motor home. Pity they don’t do boat insurance it’s gone up!
We can now start putting everything back to save tripping over satellite dishes etc which have been taking over the house.
Next will be fully loaded and take it to the weight bridge so we know if it’s vignettes or the digital boxes we need for some of the country’s we plan to visit. Never thought payload would be something I would fret about!
Family from Spain coming tomorrow and we are excited to see them it’s been almost a year since we drove down to the south of Spain to see them. Looking forward to our coffee Chris!
20 days and counting
26 days to go and we are counting!
The bus is now officially a motor home! Only took 10 months yes I said 10 months! DVLA lost 2 applications and 32 photos sent by registered post, couldn’t open the photos in an email, sent back the registration document twice unchanged, sent them back, sent us new one with Motor Home yippee! Well no not quite it still had 17 seats apparently. Then at the 10 month mark a proper one that said motor Home with 2 seat. That was a marathon.
In June we headed for Glasgow for 2 nights to visit eldest son and granddaughter Sophie. The A9 was horrendous and we were held up as many times arriving at the Glasgow site at 7 minutes past 8pm. The site closed st 8pm and they wouldn’t let us in so we had to spend the night in the car park. However we had a lovely time with our Glasgow family.
Left Glasgow and onto Edinburgh to meet up with friends at the caravan and motor Home site which was lovely and next to the sea. We were there to see The Rolling Stones 😁 🎶 and they were fantastic they still rock it!
At the moment I am tripping over satellite dishes, TV, gas bbq, boxes and everything else out of the “motor home”. It has gone off for its mot so fingers and toes crossed.
Our plans are something like this France 🇫🇷 to Belgium 🇧🇪 Luxembourg 🇱🇺 Germany 🇩🇪 Austria 🇦🇹 Italy 🇮🇹 and if time A bit further. In other words we will follow the sun 🌞

In Glasgow visiting our eldest son and his family.
I think it’s safe to say the sun is a distant memory.
Sophie remains a whirlwind, can barely get a photo that isn’t blurred.
Home tomorrow, work Friday.
Almost a month over
Looks like we have left the sun behind can’t believe we were sitting outside last night and now back to cold and damp.
M25 was a nightmare and the roads are a mess of ruts and pot holes.
Stopped at Woodstock for the night and the mist has come down to welcome us back to the UK. We get 40% off a visit the Blenheim palace, will give it a miss as heading for Glasgow to visit AstAst our eldest son and family.
Someone today said we had lovely tans however I’m sure they won’t last.
Mrs Google had a funny turn when we were driving through London, but she came alright again I wonder if she enjoyed her holiday with us.
2 days left of the adventure before Dementia is over for this year
Arrived in Dieppe yesterday had a look round and had some dinner. Camembert and crepes of course.
Slumming it last night as we used an aires rather than a campsite since it was next door to the port.
Now sitting in line for the ferry back to New Haven.
Least said about the French and their toilets the better.
Next stop England!
Day ? But we still have another 2 to go!
